Just "pushing through" the stress without taking time to relax will often lead to hitting a wall and losing milk supply - definitely not what we want. 

A few additional points:

• Fluctuations in milk supply are indeed messages from your body that you are run down. LISTEN and rest. Everything else will wait.
• Be assertive about drawing boundaries. If you are feeling run down and stressed, stop pushing yourself or saying yes to everyone and give yourself permission to just curl up on the couch with your baby.
• Remember that all of this is relevant to all nursing moms on-the-go at any time of the year.
